Tabitha sat up in her bed from a nightmare. She was in a cold sweat despite the room being rather warm. She couldn’t shake the feeling of dread she was awoken with. Throwing the blankets off her as she sat on the edge of the bed, she held her head in her hands. What had caused such a feeling of dread? She looked at the digital clock on the nightstand next to her. It read 2:35 am. Then she heard her bedroom door open to reveal the monster of a man that had been killing young women in their homes standing there in front of her. “How do you want to die?” She heard him call out. Tabitha reached for her gun and found it missing. This was it, she was going to die. That was what the feeling of dread was. She didn’t have time to answer him as he pointed her own gun at her and fired it. She had one last thought as she died, “At least my death wasn’t in vain.”
